Facts about Cellulite Treatment that You Must Know

One of the reasons that your butt might not be looking tighter or your legs might be dimpling despite your best efforts to reduce fat is that it might not be fat at all. It might be cellulite. Yes! Cellulite and fat are different. Here’s the thing about cellulite – if you have it, you’re not alone. 80-90% of women have cellulite, and we are talking about extremely fit and active women too.

Whether or not it’s resulting in dimpling or sagging is dependent upon the fact how much cellulite your body has. Having said that, you don’t have to get hopeless because even though cellulite cannot be removed completely, it can be treated!

The Clinique Anti Aging cellulite treatment is an assembly of many treatments combined to minimize the appearance of cellulite. That’s the only way to obtain the desired result. A single treatment might not be effective if you have a lot of cellulite.

The most effective treatment strategic plans that experienced doctors suggest are using radiofrequency-based devices and/or Erbium lasers to heat the surface or using skin lifting injections.

  1. When doctors are using fillers to treat cellulite, it usually takes 3-4 sessions for the desired results. The sessions are spaced 6-8 weeks from each other. So, the treatment will continue for about 4 to 5 months.
  2. When doctors use energy-based devices and lasers like Erbium lasers, it typically takes 3-5 sittings.  The sittings are spaced 1 month from each other. So, the treatment will continue for 3 to 5 months.

There are usually 2 types of fillers that offer the best results. They are Sculptra® and Radiesse®. Both these fillers are biostimulants.

Sculptra® offers the best results around the butt area and thighs. This stimulant triggers the formation of collagen. Collagen is the natural protein that the body produces. Its function is to produce new and healthy skin cells. When Sculptra® is injected into the problem areas, the collagen starts producing new cells that start replacing the saggy skin cells. And the results are very good. The skin looks much tighter and younger.

Radiesse® works in very much the same way. It densifies the skin. This is why it’s used in cases where the skin is dimpling more than sagging. The treated area looks much smoother.

To sum up, cellulite treatment is the only option to improve the appearance of the skin. Bear in mind, it’s not something you can leave in inexperienced hands. The experience of the doctor will play a major role in the kind of results you’ll see. So, pick wisely!
